Beccles Conservative Bowls Club again held the highly successful mixed triples Adnams Trophy competition with all players enjoying brilliant sunshine plus the benefit of bowling on a very well-prepared surface.

Umpire of the day John Hogwood welcomed all players to the club.

The competition was played to EBA rules over 10 ends, each rink playing three games with two points for a win and one for a draw.

After the completion of these games the third and fourth places were decided when the rink of Ken Reynolds from Lowestoft Rail lost to Peter Clarke, Lauren Clarke and Shaun Cook.

The final was between the only two rinks with unbeaten records. A good game was envisaged and spectators were not disappointed. Although Margaret Moore, Cyril Moore and George Slater bowled well they were unable to prevent Rachael Clarke, John Knights and Mark Cole from running out worthy winners by six shots.

John Hogwood congratulated all the winners and presented the prizes.

Thanks were conveyed to Adnams and to all those who worked hard in ensuring an enjoyable and successful day.
