A warm gentle breeze and sunshine greeted sailors at Buckenham Sailing Club on Sunday. Although black clouds came and went, bringing some heavy gusts, the rain held off.

A warm gentle breeze and sunshine greeted sailors at Buckenham Sailing Club on Sunday. Although black clouds came and went, bringing some heavy gusts, the rain held off.

In race one, Chris Skedge in Phantom Skedge crossed the line ahead of Phil Gooch in Supernova but on corrected times their positions were reversed.

There was some very close racing in the rest of the fleet, with three leaders battling for position and the lead amongst them continually changing.

John Barton, crewed by Jackie Howard in Vin Jaune came from behind to cross the line just four seconds ahead of Janet Gilmour and Janet Morgan in Winsmour to take third place.

In race two Chris Skedge took line honours and held his place on corrected time. Winsmour crept up the inside from behind three running boats to gain water at the bottom gybe mark and kept her position for the rest of the race to cross the line ahead of the following pack to take second place ahead of Vin Jaune in third position.

In race three it was follow the leader as Winsmour led the fleet round the course and finished ahead of the RS Vision Saphira helmed by Chris Skedge and Pete Lumley and Carol Catchploe in their Fireball. On corrected times the positions remained the same as over the water.

Results - Allcomers Race 1 (8): 1 Supernova (Phil Gooch), 2 Phantom Skedge (Chris Skedge), 3 Vin Jaune (John Barton/Jackie Howard).

Allcomers Race 2 (8): 1 Phantom Skedge, 2 Winsmour (Janet Gilmour/Janet Morgan), 3 Vin Jaune.

Allcomers Race 3: 1 Winsmour, 2 Saphira (Chris Skedge/Steve Riley), 3 Fireball (Pete Lumbley/Carol Catchpole).
