Buckenham Sailing Club welcomed Enterprise sailors to BSC on Sunday for the Enterprise Woodcock Salver.
Five boats and crews, four from Beccles ASC and one from Dabchicks in Essex took part.
The first race was a passage race to Cantley and sailed in strong, gusting winds and warm sunshine. There was close racing all the way with Brian and Linda Cumming, the visitors from Essex, coming home just ahead of Richard Deller, crewed by Rory Kelsy in second place. One Last Time Biggles, sailed by John and Philippa Adcroft, finished third.
The next two races were round the buoys. Cuddles and Believe were having a real battle in Race Two. If Richard Deller had not hit the mark when he was ahead, and consequently lost position to Believe when doing his turns, he may have finished ahead of Believe.

Going into the last race, Brian and Linda in Believe could not be beaten overall but Richard and Rory in Cuddles came back to finish first in Race Three.
So the trophy goes to Essex, but Believe will be back to defend it next year.

As well and bringing their Enterprises to Buckenham, BASC brought Toppers and a Laser to join in with the Buckenham Allcomer fleet. In the first race to Cantley, Chris Skedge in Phantom Skedge came home ahead of the fleet but was beaten on corrected time by visiting Matthew Deller sailing Laser Hellraiser. Mike Spencer and Sue Burrell in Natterjack were third. The Toppers joined the second allcomer race of the day and first place went to Jake Smalls in his Topper, TipTop. Hellraiser was second and there was a tie for third position between Natterjack and Phantom Skedge.
The positions were reversed in the next race with Phantom Skedge finishing ahead of Hellraiser and TipTop. Topper, Just Harry 2 sailed by Harry Shipley finished ahead of Jemma Smalls in her Topper, RedHot, in the two allcomer races. Jake Smalls was presented with the Topper Trophy and Matthew Deller took the Allcomer Trophy back to Beccles.
On Saturday, Buckenham SC members are invited to join the sailors at Beccles ASC.
