Bungay Bowls Club host their first open tournament of the season as they welcome back Wightmans of Bungay as sponsors of the President’s Shield 3-Wood Open Triples tounament.

Organiser Ian Gosling has attracted around 20 entrants including many past winners. The Jack Newnham (Lowestoft Railway) entry won the last two occasions that Wightmans sponsored the tournament back in 2011 and 2012. As well as winning in 2010, his triple are also the current holders. Also entered are Oulton Broad’s Alan Buck who won in 2015 and Bungay’s Roger Bullen who won in 2014, Roger’s triple were joint winners on a rain affected tournament day in 2013 along with the Tracy Knights triple from Hales.

Last year’s runner-up Pam McCloud (Lowestoft Railway) is also entered along with the third and fourth place triples of Dennis Kent (Hales) and Jim Caplin (Bungay). Qualifying matches commence at 9am with the finals around 5pm.
