CAPTAIN Craig Hunting again topped the appearance charts for Bungay Town FC in the season just ended as he moved into 15th place in the club's all time appearance record.

He completed 30 games, missing only one, to take his total to 317. This season he has moved past Brian Andrews (291), Norwyn Parker (294) and Charlie Manning (299) into 15th place.

If he can complete 34 appearances next season it would take him into the top 11 - and he is still young enough to ultimately challenge Graeme Jolly's all-time record 557 appearances - eight seasons could do it!

Neil Reanut missed only two games in a fine season.

Rory French was top scorer with 10 goals, scored in just 17 games, with Tom Amis and Joe McFarlane hitting seven each, but goals were hard to come by. Of their 31 games in all Bungay won 13, drew 6, and lost 12, scoring just 50 goals and conceding 44. Six of the 13 wins came in the first 11 games, and seven of the 12 defeats came in the final 11 games.

The defence was impressive, conceding more than two goals in a game only once in the league, and only Corton conceded fewer. But the tally of 44 in 28 league games (only five teams scored fewer), hampered their promotion push.

Nevertheless a sixth-place finish in their first season back in senior football, in the Anglian Combination division one, was highly creditable and a good platform for next season.

Bungay fielded 39 players in all this season.
