BUNGAY Cricket Club held their EGM on Monday, December 27, when all the officers and captains were appointed for the new season.

The first team are heading into 2011 with young blood at the helm, with Chris Fuller as captain and George Mattocks as vice-captain. Both these young men have represented Norfolk at junior age groups and also represented other clubs higher up in the Alliance pyramid.

Experience, guile and coaching skills are more in evidence in the appointments for the A-team, where captain Tony Chang and vice-captain Tim Porter are keen to develop some of last year’s successful U13 squad into regular Saturday afternoon cricketers.

With two new Level One coaches for next season in Stuart Buck and Oliver Flood, and in addition Tim Porter also enrolling on to a Level Two course, Bungay are keen to build on the firm base they already have with three youth teams at U9, U11 and U13 age groups.

Indoor winter nets have been booked at Hobart High School in Loddon starting on Tuesday, February1.

Chris, George, Tony and Tim are keen for new and existing players to go along and see if Bungay is the club for them.

Nets for adults start at 7pm and any new players can contact Chris Fuller on 07795 273847 or Tim Porter on 07876 452782.
