MARK Phillipson of Bungay has started the 2009/2010 indoor Sportshall season impressively by winning two U15 boys' titles.

The beginning of December saw Mark compete in the City of Norwich open Sportshall competition and gain maximum points and first place from the three events, which were a four-lap race, standing long jump and medicine ball throw.

Last week saw Mark continue his success by taking joint first place in the U15 boys' Norfolk Sportshall League. The indoor league is for the winter season and is an individual multi-event competition over three league meetings.

The six events are a two and four-lap race, standing long jump, standing triple jump, shot putt and speed bounce.

Mark trains at Great Yarmouth Athletic Club and is a Bungay High School student.

This year is the first for Mark in the U15 age group and he is hoping to continue his success from last year where he won the same titles in the U13 age group and represented Norfolk in the national finals in Birmingham, in which he won gold in the vertical jump.
