Bungay A prevailed in their relegation derby against Cringleford Lodge A, as they thrashed them by 151 runs.

Put in to bat on a wet wicket, openers Tim Porter and Tony Chang took advantage of some loose bowling to pile up 88 for the first wicket before Porter picked out the cover fielder.

Skipper Chang went on to record his half-century as Jon Fuller played himself in. With a succession of batsmen losing their wickets as the ball stopped in the pitch, it was left to Danny Mowday to partner Fuller as Bungay moved steadily on to maximum batting points, posting an imposing 226 for six after the 45 overs, Jon Fuller finishing on 68 not out.

In reply, Cringleford A never looked like getting the target, and hostile opening spells from Mowday and new recruit Harry Bamber reduced the home side to 44 for five.

Henry Carroll then ripped out another couple of wickets, and with the younger bowlers also getting a run out with the ball, the home side were eventually dismissed for a distant 75.

Bungay A now need to try and find another win, which should hopefully see them safe, and host Great Melton B on tomorrow.
