The Norfolk and Suffolk Youth League hosted the next stage of its Futsal Experience on Sunday when under nine teams played 15 matches and then split into groups and played a champions league format competition.

Teams from Bohemians Lions and Tigers, Gorleston Rangers, Acle United, Caister Roma and Bungay Town played as Barcelona, Paris St Germain, Bayern Munich, Juventus, FC Porto and Real Madrid.

After the group matches were completed sudden death took place until there was a Paris St Germain and Juventus final. The match was decided by a two-goal victory in a very fast and skilful final.

The Futsal Experience continues this week with under 10s and completes the season with the under 11s in March.

Sole Bay’s 2-1 win over the Gunners of Kirkley and Pakefield and Beccles Town Wasps 3-1 win over Belton completed the under 16 semi-finals in the Shield competition, but the league title is still far from certain.

Gorleston Rangers Phoenix moved level on points at the top of the table after their 7-1 defeat of Bohemians.

The under 11 age group was also hosting cup semi-finals when results did not go with the form book, the Falcons of Gorleston Rangers suffering their first defeat of the season, losing 2-0 to Caister Roma Gladiators and the Meerkats of Waveney needing penalties in a 5-4 shoot-out to defeat table-toppers Bohemians Comets after the match had finished 3-3.

Waveney Jaguars enjoy a seven-point lead at the top of under 11 Division Two, but chasing hard are the Galaxy team from Bohemians and both teams are back in action this weekend.

Divison Three is much tighter at the top as Long Stratton went on a goal rampage to keep their single-point lead over the Pumas of Waveney who were also in the goals, hitting six past Blundeston Magpies.

Finally in under 11 Division Four the top teams were in Shield quarter-final action and after a 2-2 draw in normal time Worstead Wolves completed a 5-4 shoot-out win over previously unbeaten Hawks of Gorleston Rangers, Worstead will now meet Martham in the semi-final after their 2-0 defeat of FC Bradwell Spain while the other semi-final will be an all-Panthers affair as both Kirkley and Waveney Panthers completed their quarter-finals with a 8-0 win for Waveney Panthers and a 11-1 for the K&P Panthers.
