HALES Cricket Club have a busy Easter weekend planned, with club chairman Pete Dye calling for as much support as is possible from players, parents and supporters of the club, as they work towards meeting the Alliance deadline of April 18 for its new ground.

There will be work parties tomorow, Saturday and Easter Sunday all starting at 10am.

Dye commented: “We've been working each Sunday since February, with 16 at last Sunday's session, but it now needs a final push, to ensure the modules are finished off.”

The new modules will have a social area, changing rooms, shower room, umpires' room, kitchen, toilets and scorers' room. With a 12-strip square ready, and the outfield just having been worked on and overseeded, the club are hopeful of Alliance Division One cricket this year.

Dye added: “The club are extremely grateful to those who have been working to get things finished, and to our club president Sir Nicholas Bacon, who has been superb in his help and support in backing the club in its new ground project.”
