It was very cold wet and windy for the Lady Captain's Charity Day at Bungay and Waveney Valley Golf Club but it did not deter the 60 ladies from near and far who took part in the team AM AM Stableford Competition.

The event was held to support the Stroke Association and the Army Benevolent Fund.

Organisers from the Stroke Association were on hand to explain the dangers of high blood pressure and those who wanted had their blood pressure taken - either before or after the golf!

The winners, with 82 points were Melanie Lesser, Sally Beckett, Jo Beresford and Mariette Robertse from Bury St.

Edmunds.

In second place were Marie Yapp (Rookery Park), Anne Smith (Bungay), Linda Millar (Woodbridge) and Ev Rumsby (Aldeburgh). In third place were Myra Lane, Maureen Dark, Penny Platten and Vivienne Perring from Gorleston. Nearest the pin prizes went to Marie Yapp from Rookery Park on the fourth and Vivien Perring from Gorleston on the 12th - £1200 was raised on the day and the Lady Captain thanked everyone who had helped or been involved.
