Loddon, again missing several key players to cricket call-ups, slipped to their third defeat.

Early play was fairly even with defenders doing their jobs. Gunton had to concede a corner when clearly being fouled but made amends when he cleared a near-post header off the line. Ayre showed neat control with a couple of clearances but going forward Loddon lacked any penetration.

Some decent passing between Summons and Parkin set up a shooting chance for Halls but it was charged down. Burke lost the ball easily in his own half but showed good character in chasing back to regain possession.

Howes gathered a free-kick and moments later was then grateful to see the ball trickle wide after his centre backs went missing. Parkin fed Gunton on the overlap, Andersen stepped over the cross, and Halls and Greenhalf played a delightful one-two and Halls just missed the far post.

Saints broke through and shot wide, then it happened again and this time Howes went down bravely to save. Andersen had a dip from distance and was only just wide of the top corner.

Saints broke down the right and a pin-point cross and header made it 1-0.

Loddon opened the second half looking a little brighter. Andersen started a move, and via Crisp and Summons, got on the end of a chip into the box, but the keeper gathered at the second attempt. Crisp did well to clear a shot off the line. Saints then fired over the bar and in reply, Burke tried to catch out the home keeper from distance and Halls shot wide.

Marjoribanks sent a superb pass out to Andersen, now on the right, but the cross just evaded his teammates. Summons was robbed easily in midfield, Howes came to clear, the ball was chipped back in, Howes hesitated and Saints' striker rose to head home.

Summons fed Majoribanks but the shot was high. Andersen then fired in a perfect corner from the right, Parkin met it sweetly on the volley and found the top corner for Loddon. But a quick shot caught Howes off his line for 3-1.

Loddon Res 4, Easton 0

Steven Wise raced through and placed his shot over the keeper. Lewis Frost made it 2-0 after cutting inside and firing home. Daniel Robinson was looking lively and made it 3-0. Loddon keeper Rob Howes made a fine diving save. Good running and a cross from Robinson found Wise who smashed the ball into the net. The Easton keeper kept out Robinson with a fine save. Tom Baylis, Matt Ayre and Matt Parkin all showed good work.
