BUNGAY Black Dog Runners Chris Chorley and Bobbie Sauerzapf made the journey to Berkhamsted last Sunday to compete in a very popular half marathon.

The race, organised by the local Rotary Club, always attracts a big field. This year was no exception with 1,191 finishers on a pleasant spring-like day.

A lovely route follows the edge of the Chilterns with the occasional challenging hill to spoil any chances of a pb. The final four miles are through Ashridge Forest-typical mature Chilterns deciduous woodland.

Chris finished in 1-42:26 (314th) despite having spent eight minutes assisting a collapsed runner half a mile from the finish.

Bobbie came home in a creditable time of 1-53:43 (628th).
