AFTER the most successful season in its history, Beccles Rugby Club is now starting to build for the challenge of London 2 rugby.

Following promotions for both the 1st and 2nd XV the club is looking to grow its player numbers and is also looking to expand the senior and junior coaching staff.

On the back of the success the club has had over recent years, and with a number of very exciting signings en route, this is a fantastic opportunity to join the club's coaching team.

Pre-season training begins at 7pm on July 6 so any coaches or players who are interested in joining the club can call John Payne on 07884 234941.

The club wrapped up this magnificent season with a gentlemen's dinner, sponsored by Heritage Building Supplies and Graphitas marketing and communications agency.

The guest speaker was England and British Lion Dean Richards, with over 100 guests in attendance.

After his best season to date, with call-ups to the Norfolk and Eastern Counties squads, Luke Wade walked away with the prestigious Mike Puxley players' player of the year award as well as that for most improved player.

Sam Williamson, who was another hot contender for the main award, was the winner of the first-team top try scorer award. Exciting young talent Matty Calver scooped the second XV player of the year with Ben Vassey Lark collecting young player of the year after another fine season. Clubman was veteran John Payne.
