ENTRIES have already opened for the Roger Wing Memorial 1OKm road race and one mile fun run on Friday, April 2, which will start at Broome near Bungay.

Entries are now coming in at an encouraging rate for this race, which is a fundraiser for Cancer Research UK.

Organisers Bungay's Black Dog Running Club are encouraging people to pre enter via their website.

Entries will be taken on the day but it will help ease congestion if runners could enter before.

They may do this via www.bungayblackdogrunningclub.co.uk where runners can enter using the 'Just Giving Charity' entry form. This costs the runners nothing to do and there is the added bonus that taxpayers will have the tax relief added to their entry fee and donation. Entering via this method sends the money direct to the charity.

The entry fee has been kept low so that runners are not excluded due to cost. The club is asking though that entrants where possible donate a further amount or try to raise sponsorship.

This fun event encourages all abilities. Whether you are a serious runner after a personal best or someone that either just wants to get round or do it for the charity, you will find you will be well supported by this friendly club. The last person to finish will receive just as much support as the first in.

For those that want to get into the spirit of the day but don't feel they can run 1OKm there is the option of the one mile fun run, which is open to youngsters and adults of all ages. Entry fee for the 10km run is 6 or 8 for unattached runners. The fun run will cost 2 to enter.

The running club is covering all expenses incurred in putting the event on. This means all money raised through entry fees and sponsorship goes to Cancer Research UK to help them continue their vital work into preventing, diagnosing and treating the many types of cancer in the local area.

The club are encouraging all runners to raise as much money as possible, through their entry fee and circulating their sponsor forms. However, this year we are also encouraging as many runners as possible to use the online fundraising form, meaning we can get the money to the charity as quickly as possible, www.justgiving.com/blackdogrun
