A great goal-fest for Loddon in their 10-1 win over Gayton was helped in no short measure by the contribution of a tight defence, especially Way and Baylis.

The first 20 minutes of this encounter saw both teams evenly matched.

Loddon perhaps just edged it on chances created, with Ricky Summons crashing a left-foot volley onto the bar on three minutes and Dan Andersen finding the side netting on 12.

It took until the 23rd minute for Loddon to break the deadlock. Gary Summons stepped up to the penalty spot and sent the keeper the wrong way after a push on Hancock.

Two minutes later Battisson headed on for Wright, but his effort was cleared off the line. Hancock picked up the loose ball and Ricky Summons fired home for 2-0.

Way and Baylis dominated at the back and allowed Gayton very little space or time by getting to the ball first.

On 33 minutes Dan Andersen followed up a saved Gary Summons effort to make it three.

Loddon eased up and Gayton had a spell of possession, Shipley and Baylis making well-timed interceptions and blocks.

From a Gayton corner Collins claimed, cleared long, Gary Summons headed on and Hancock supplied the finish.

Just before half-time, Baylis found Battisson, who controlled well and turned it onto Wright who shot wide of the diving keeper for 5-0.

Early second half Dan Andersen volleyed wide after a Wright flick-on. After sustained Loddon pressure, Robin Andersen crossed, Hancock just managed to retrieve and put the ball back to the far post where Dan Andersen finished.

Gary Summons pushed the ball wide to Hancock who came back inside to Ricky Summons.

He put through Shipley on the overlap and a great cross was converted by Wright at the second attempt for goal No 7.

Ten minutes into the half, Hancock, Shipley, and Battisson were replaced by Sadler, Rolfe and Marjoribanks. It took a while to regain the momentum, and 30 minutes into the half Gayton managed a consolation.

When Way and Rolfe were wrong-footed the Gayton forward shot wide of Collins.

Sadler found Gary Summons who slipped a great ball into the path of Marjoribanks, but his delicate chip over the on-rushing keeper went just wide.

Sadler started another neat move with Gary Summons which ended with Wright being brought down by the keeper. Dan Andersen stepped up, the keeper saved well but Andersen followed up well to volley home and complete his hat-trick.

Rolfe intercepted well, won a throw and sent Dan Andersen away. He found Marjoribanks who casually fired in from a tight angle to make it nine. Sadler worked the ball to Ricky Summons, Wright had a shot on the turn well saved and Marjoribanks was on hand to get his second and make it double figures for Loddon.
