The first of the festive season's special races saw 45 Bungay Black Dog Running Club members turn out for Waveney Valley AC's annual 10 mile Turkey Trot on Sunday.

While some ran for fun and in Christmas costume, others took things a little more seriously, looking for end-of-year gold standards and personal best performances in “lovely conditions with super organisation and brilliant marshals”.

Shaun Button led the Black Dogs home with a personal best of one hour, 10 minutes and 40 seconds.

The full Black Dog results were: 55 Shaun Button 01:10:40, 56 Tom Pullinger 01:10:50, 75 Roly Shaw 01:14:15, 81 Simon Norton 01:14:52, 88 Chris Chorley 01:16:14, 94 Jo Cox 01:17:08, 112 Simon Sparkes 01:19:34, 113 Andrew Pottruff 01:19:37, 114 Toby Craig 01:19:40, 116 Sabrina Norton 01:19:52, 116 Jon Wiles 01:19:52, 119 Bob Paul 01:20:05, 121 Laura Devereux 01:20:09, 123 Tony Morley 01:20:15,138 Jo Walker 01:21:45, 141 Stuart Young 01:22:03, 142 Sarah Maidment 01:22:10, 147 Jane Hannah 01:22:40, 150 Bobbie Sauerzapf 01:22:51, 153 Robin Ashe 01:23:08, 154 John Wharton 01:23:10, 161 Sophie Bell 01:23:58, 167 Graham Sampson 01:24:30, 171 Laura Gilbert 01:24:43, 191 Tony Hardy 01:28:50, 192 Bridget Shaw 01:28:51, 199 Nigel Gilham 01:29:57, 201 Alice Kirk 01:30:12, 204 Amy Godbold 01:30:47, 204 Tanya Holloway 01:30:47, 208 Sue Lowther 01:31:34, 209 Jackie Bell 01:31:37, 210 Loretta Thurston 01:31:43, 216 Karen Gedge 01:33:14,229 Christine Ashe 01:34:51, 231 Larissa Smith 01:34:59, 247 Adrian Hunt 01:37:59, 247 Sean O’Loughlin 01:37:59, 247 Clare West 01:37:59, 254 Douglas Gladwin 01:38:53, 255 Sarah Sparkes 01:39:44, 260 Robin Farrar 01:40:10, 265 Lucy Johnston 01:45:48, 266 Don Tiffin 01:45:51 and 267 Judith Masters 01:47:40.

The festival comprises a choice of races; the traditional marathon and half marathon and a 10k with entry fees from £8 to £27.
