THE ever-popular Harleston Engineering-sponsored Texas Scramble was well supported at Beccles Golf Club on Saturday, with all the tees occupied for the shotgun start.

The sponsors were represented by Syer Shulver who led his team in the competition and organised the many prizes on offer.

Several guests were amongst the various teams. The winners of the event were club captain Willie White's team of Bryan Debenham and father and son Brian and Christian Lever.

Nearest the pin prize on the eighth hole was won by club president Rod Cooper who also won the “meat draw” organised by Chris Peach. Longest drive on the fourth hole went to Syer Shulver who kindly gave it back for club funds.

Club captain Willie White thanked Harleston Engineering for their continued generous support of the club and Syer for organising the event.

Julie provided the excellent refreshments which rounded off a highly-successful morning.

The competition tomorrow (Saturday) will tee off at 8.15 and will be followed by the draw for the club singles and doubles matches.
