Loddon had a great end to the season with eight games undefeated and a top-five finish which was way beyond expectation on their return to the top flight.

United put four goals past hosts Hindringham with two in reply.

Loddon started brightly with tidy build-up play down the left.

Within five minutes Robin Andersen hit three delightful crosses to the far post looking for brother Dan who met the last but just failed to hit the target with his header.

On 11 minutes Brown latched onto a through ball, beat his defender for pace and calmly chipped the advancing keeper for a deserved lead.

Brown could have added another when he volleyed wide. Sadler then shot over trying to pick out the top corner. A good chance fell to Dan Andersen from a quick Gary Summons free-kick, but the keeper saved.

The hosts offered little going forward; when they did, Way and Durrant competed well and Collins was rarely threatened. Durrant hit a long ball for Wright to chase, but the keeper came out and headed clear.

With the keeper stranded, Gary Summons thought about a long shot and Durrant then tried one, to no avail.

Gunton blocked well, and Ricky Summons was set up by Sadler but the shot deflected to the keeper. Gary Summons was caught late and the resulting free-kick was headed just wide by Way.

With so many chances wasted, Hindringham had started to get into the game and Loddon should have had a bigger half-time cushion.

As has often been the case, early pressure earned dividends. Wright slipped in the box on shooting, but gained a corner. Gary Summons sliced wide; Brown chased and kept the loose ball in, delivered a perfect cross to the far post and Robin Andersen headed in.

Gunton gave Collins protection gathering a loose ball, and Collins then pulled off a good save when the defence was breached. In the next 15 minutes, Brown and Sadler had chances and Dan Andersen hit a post when set up by Ricky Summons. Matthews came on for Wright and had a hand in Loddon's third eight minutes later.

A good call and win in the middle by Ricky Summons set up Brown. He squared for Matthews but a defender got there first and fired his clearance onto the bar and over the line.

Superb control and movement by Sadler gave him space to slide the ball neatly beyond the keeper for 4-0.

Hindringham broke from the restart and their shot took a slight deflection to beat Collins.

Durrant went on a long run leaving all in his wake including the keeper who then fouled him only for play to be waved on and Hindringham clear. The home keeper made a good save when Brown tried another chip.

Dan Andersen gave manager Creegan the last five minutes after another fine display. Hindringham produced one of the best moves of the day - they moved the ball wide right, crossed to the far post and a lay-off was fired home, 4-2.

Brown and Gary Summons had shots over and cleared off the line and Matthews was unable to finish from close range.

Musker McIntyre MoM: Matt Sadler.
