HALES Cricket Club staged Greeny's Day Six-a-Side, in memory of Matt Green. Teams from Burston, Kirkley, Melton, Greeny's team and two from Hales competed for Greeny's Trophy, with the host Club Hales winning by six runs, against an excellent Melton side, led by former player Woody Loines.

In the semis, Hales beat free-scoring Burston, and Melton overcame a strong Kirkley side.

Karen Knights and team provided the barbecue and Sara Green the raffle. All profits for the day will go to Royal Marsden, which are hoped to be over �200.

Matt's father John presented the trophies on a day when the weather made the day perfect, with the club and the Green family very grateful for everyone who supported the day.
