HALES Cricket Club are holding their third Greeny's Day six-a-side, in memory of former player Matt Green, with all monies raised going to the Royal Marsden Hospital where Matt was treated before losing his life at just 19 in 2004.
Club Chairman Pete Dye said: “Matt was a natural sportsman, an outstanding cricketer, whose approach to life was so laid-back it was almost horizontal. So a six-a-side is his sort of cricket with plenty of socialising, with bar and barbecue available”.
The cost to enter a team is 30 and the event is on Sunday, August 16 with a 10am start.
If you want to enter a team please phone Pete on 07931 711323 or email him at petehalescc@btinternet.com.
Both the club and Matt's family welcome any of Matt's friends to the club for a drink, burger and chance to remember what a great lad Greeny was.
