Gym girls battle it out
GYMNASTICS: The Suffolk Recreational Qualifier Gymnastics competition was held at the Pipers Vale Club in Ipswich.Four girls from Beccles Royales Gymnasics Club (pictured above) competed at this competition with the option of competing on one, two, three or four pieces of apparatus.

In the 11-12 age group Heather McGuinness chose floor and vault, for which she received scores of 12.3 & 9.7 respectively.
Scores for Megan Nicholls, also in the 11-12 age group, were bars 10.65, beam 11.6, floor 12.1 and she narrowly missed out on a place in the regional final with her vault score of 10.25.

In the 13+ age group were Daisy Tyrrell-Kent and Claire Gasking, who both competed on all four pieces of apparatus.
Daisy scored vault 9.85, bars 11.05, beam 11.75 and a beautiful floor 12.55.

It was another successful day for Claire, whose scores were vault 9.4, bars 11.3, beam 12.65 (bronze medal) and floor 13.05 (silver medal).
Claire now goes through the regional final at Ipswich which will be staged in November.
