Hales Cricket Club will be hosting Greeny's six-a-side competition on Sunday, August 15 in memory of Matt Green who played for the club before losing his battle with cancer in 2005 at the age of only 19.

Hales Cricket Club will be hosting Greeny's six-a-side competition on Sunday, August 15 in memory of Matt Green who played for the club before losing his battle with cancer in 2005 at the age of only 19.

There will be six teams - Greeny's, Hales, Hales A, Kirkley, Kirkley A and James Paget - with the games starting at 10am.

There will be a bar and barbecue with all proceeds going to the Royal Marsden Hospital, where Matt was treated. Club chairman Pete Dye invites anyone who knew Matt, to a day of exciting cricket, food, drink and a chance to remember a real star both on and off the field.
