Hales (0pts) lost at Bradenham (20) by nine wickets in Alliance One.

They welcomed C Hlengani and A Beaumont to the team and captain Rowe lost the toss on a pitch looking to be lively early on and was asked to bat first. Hales lost three quick wickets of Rowe, Squire and Jones as B Gates showed everyone exactly how to bowl in-swinging balls on a very helpful pitch.

Hlengani came in with the score on 15-3 hoping to revive the Hales innings with C Andersen but was run out for four. A resilient C Andersen soon followed for eight.

Hales continued to lose regular wickets with the only real resistance coming from R. Anderson who batted superbly, mixing solid defence and fine strokeplay in his innings of 27. Hales were eventually bowled out after 31 overs for a very sorry looking 68, leaving R Andersen stranded not out. Gates took 5-23.

R Andersen and N Pearce opened the bowling and looked to be troubling he Bradenham openers with only six runs coming off the first five overs. R Anderson took the first wicket, of Evans for two, Hlengani at second slip taking a wonderful one-handed catch.

South African Selowa looked to dominate the Hales attack with44 in seven overs to seal the game for Bradenham.

Hales's batsmen gave their bowling attack no chance with a very below-par display. The Alan Boswell Insurance Brokers man of the match goes to R Anderson for a fine batting display and a sharp opening bowling spell.

Next, Hales travel to Beccles hoping to bounce back from their embarrassing defeat.
