DESPITE a hard frost the night before a decent fleet of hardy sailors gathered for the last but one Sunday racing of the season at Beccles Amateur Sailing Club.
DESPITE a hard frost the night before a decent fleet of hardy sailors gathered for the last but one Sunday racing of the season at Beccles Amateur Sailing Club.
David Gentry and Jackie Soards in their Enterprise made a return after missing a number of weeks. With an ebbing tide, they made the most of the light conditions, winning the first race and were second in the next.
Ryan Langston who had all but won the Icicle Series had to be content with a second and third places, while father Mark gained a third and first place. Bob Payle was fourth in both races sailing his GP14.
Meanwhile Milo Philips in his Topper sailed to two first places beating Bob Ashcroft also in a Topper for The Goodwin Trophy races.

This coming Sunday morning sees the last of the series races taking place for the season.
Only the Boxing Day race remains starting at 10.30am followed by mince pies and mulled wine in the Clubhouse. Members should also note that the annual dinner dance and prize giving will now take place on February 14, at The Waveney House Hotel, Beccles.
