In the Notley's Lowestoft and District League Hearts of Oak are almost there after they collected the three points in their title clash with Norton, courtesy of a single Vinny Terry goal.

Norton missed a late penalty and Hearts now need just one more point to secure the title.

Wrentham finished off the season in good style with a 6-2 win at Waveney, top scorer Stuart Holland getting a hat-trick. They can only be caught by Spexhall, who need to win both their remaining games by a plus 15 margin.

Kirkley are fourth, finishing their campaign with a

single-goal victory against Carlton Rangers.

The second division is still far from over and will go down to the last two games as both contenders picked up three points. Hearts of Oak Reserves won 3-1 against third-placed Blundeston Magpies and Barsham 1-0 at Waveney Gunners.

Caxton Reserves cannot win the title but they are only three points behind Barsham and still in with a chance of promotion should Barsham slip. This week they beat White Horse Seltic 3-2.

Royal Standard had a 6-2 victory over Oulton Broad and Notley's while Pakefield Re-United jump a place after beating Crusaders 4-2. The final game in the division saw Lacon Arms picking up their first win with a single-goal victory over Ellingham.

With the third division title already decided, this week also saw the runners-up berth secured, by Hopton White Hart who beat Marquis of Lorne 5-2.

Blundeston Plough could only draw 2-2 with Factory Arms, and they will finish third in their debut season.

Oxford Arms Reserves chalked up a 6-2 win over CDS Waveney Reserves, and Spexhall Reserves finished the season with a good 4-1 win at Westhall 2007 who will finish in the bottom two.

The league would welcome applications from new teams wishing to enter for the 2008/09 season.

Interested clubs should phone league secretary Mike Johnson on 01502 565518 as a matter of course to register your interest.
