ON Thursday, September 17, Bungay High School played against Thurston High School in the Suffolk Cricket 20/20 Plate final.

Bowling first, Bungay restricted Thurston to a score of 122 with some excellent bowling from Will Bacon, Toby Kerslake, Mathew Gander, Angus MacKay, Shaun Bates and James Nobbs.

In reply, openers Will Bacon (captain) and Charlie Holmes made a solid start, reaching 51-0 after 11 overs.

However, in an attempt to increase the run rate wickets began to tumble and eventually Bungay were bowled out for 78, which was 44 runs short.

Congratulations must go to Thurston for a fine performance and Bungay should hold their heads high with some excellent victories en route to the final.

Charlie Holmes top scored in the match with an excellent 32 and Will Bacon should be commended for his outstanding captaincy and leadership throughout the campaign.
