The stableford on Saturday was the complete opposite with the entire field failing to record a score of par or better for the course - which hasn't happened for years.

Best score of the day was recorded by Mike Garrood (16) whose 34 points were one better than the runner-up, his son-in-law scratch golfer Syer B J Shulver. Rod Cooper and Ray Walding also recorded 33 points with the countback placing them third and fourth.

Julia's refreshments were much appreciated by the very cold competitors.

On Sunday, only eight hardy members braved the arctic conditions to compete in the first Sunday medal.

Lady Captain Sam Cooper was out early, braving the awful weather to prepare the greens.

It was good to see club secretary Alan Ereira back playing golf after recent surgery and his form was good enough to win the event. James Cushing was runner-up after a countback with Paul Segust third.

On Saturday, February 7 the draw for the monthly medal; will be at 8am.
