Following his England U25 bowls International trial, Ian Catchpole from Worlingham, who plays for the Halesworth club, has been selected for the England U25 international squad.

At the trial, Ian had a good series of games, skipping a rink of fours in two games against current England internationals, his first game he only lost by one shot having been in front for most of the game. In his second game against another rink of current internationals he found himself behind for most of the game, but eventually forced a draw by taking out the shot wood on the penultimate end to pick up a score of six and then played the shot which forced a draw score on the last end.

Ian will now go off to a final squad training day in July, to be held in Leicester. From this the England U25 team will be selected to go and play in Scotland against the three other home international teams.
