Jaik Mickleburgh's recall to the England U19 side could not save them from defeat in the first Twenty20 international against South Africa in Cape Town on Wednesday.
The Norfolk all-rounder had missed the last four one-day international matches after playing in the opening game, but was back in the side for the first 20-over match.
Batting at number four, Mickleburgh made nine from 14 balls as England reached 132 for seven, Kent's Sam Northeast top scoring with 47. But the hosts cruised past that target, for the loss of four wickets, in the 15th over.
