LODDON United bounced back from the defeat at Watton with a convincing midweek home win by 4-0 in Dolphin Autos Anglian Combination Division One, where they are second.

Hancock was the star of the show with a 20-minute first- half hat-trick.

The first goal came after eight minutes when the Stratton keeper fumbled a Robin Andersen cross and Hancock capitalised. The second came four minutes later. Again Andersen crossed and Hancock showed great control and finishing.

The third on 28 minutes again followed an Andersen cross. Battisson beat the keeper and headed back across the face of goal and Hancock volleyed home.

Loddon's fourth came from a Gary Summons corner. Marjoribanks went up at the near post but Battisson claimed the last touch (off his ear).

The second half saw total domination by Loddon, great never-say-die attitude from Stratton, terrific support performances from the bench in the form of Dan Andersen, Brown, and Rolfe, but no further goals. Marjoribanks had an effort off the bar and another off the line and there were a couple of great stops by the Stratton keeper. Solid performances all round the park on what could easily have been a banana skin evening.
