Loddon played the game of their season to come back and take three points with a 2-1 win at high-flying UEA.

Under pressure from the start Loddon found the pace of the pitch slow and difficult to move the ball around. UEA started strongly and went ahead after a goalmouth scramble. Loddon began to play the ball wide and the game became more evenly contested. Returning for the first time this season Liz Skinner deflected the ball past the keeper to level before the break.

Loddon came out much the stronger in the second period and a shot by Charlotte was illegally blocked – the resulting penalty flick was despatched by Nicola Payne. The keeper got her stick to it, but not enough to stop the ball going in.

UEA pressed forward and the last 10 minutes were frantic – but Loddon’s attackers came back to aid the protection of their lead and the cheers when the whistle went showed what this win meant.
