Brandon is not an easy place to dig for points, but Loddon deservedly stole one with only minutes to go of this Anglian Combination Premier Division match.

In the first half Brandon opted for 'route one' but it was 17 minutes before a long ball created a shooting opportunity, which was easily gathered by Collins.

Just before, Loddon had moved the ball neatly from Durrant at the back, through to Marjoribanks with a delightful flick up, to Ayre and Hancock - who was fouled to spoil the attack.

Gary Summons had a cross which stretched the keeper and Hancock was a constant threat, but his crosses could not conjure a clear opening. Ricky Summons earned a free-kick, which Gary took quickly to Robin Andersen, and his superbly hit drive was tipped away by the home keeper at full stretch.

From the corner Ayre headed over. Just before the break, Marjoribanks had three half-chances, but none really tested the keeper.

Within three minutes of the restart, Brandon forced a free-kick on the edge of the box. The Loddon wall eventually did its job and Collins was at full stretch to fingertip wide. Loddon replied when Sadler put through Marjoribanks via a defender, and he chipped over the advancing keeper. But the ball was brilliantly cleared off the line by a defender. The flag was raised anyway, but the game was warming up.

Brandon forced Collins into a good stop, but he could do nothing when their next cross was converted with ease on 51 minutes.

Sadler tried his luck from 30 yards and was not far away. Brandon were pressing with more creative play, but Loddon's defence coped. Robin Andersen found Sadler, who again fired a decent shot just over.

More home pressure saw Collins block with his feet, punch clear, make a good save and watch as a corner crashed against the bar.

Hancock, limping from a recurrent injury, was replaced by Chris Andersen, making his first team debut.

The referee played good advantage after a foul as Brandon crossed and converted, but luckily for Loddon, the flag was raised.

With time running out, Gary Summons hit a good drive to the keeper, and Robin Andersen went on a rampaging run down the left and won a corner.

Sadler's kick found Marjoribanks at the far post, who converted at the second attempt to level the scores.

Brandon desperately looked to regain their lead, but Loddon held on for a precious point.

Durrant and Gary Summons again excelled, but Musker McIntyre MoM for a solid show and that rampaging run to warm the travelling supporters, goes to Robin Andersen.

Loddon: Collins, Squires, Sayer, Durrant, Andersen, Hancock, Summons G, Summons R, Sadler, Marjoribanks, Ayre D. Subs: Andersen C, Creegan.

Tomorrow, Loddon visit Mattishall.
