LODDON United became Anglian Combination Division One champions with a 7-1 win at Fakenham Reserves on Tuesday.

Having already secured promotion, there was a great party atmosphere as a coach full of supporters travelled.

Gary Summons, Robin Andersen, Battisson (2), and Hancock, with first half goals, and a Brown tap-in after unselfish play by Marjoribanks, and a fantastic stretching volley by Baylis from a sweet Gricks free-kick rounded things off. Fakenham managed a second-half consolation.

Presentation night is on Saturday, May 10 - and then work starts to prepare for life in the Premier Division.

At St Andrews, Loddon knew that a draw was minimum requirement to ensure they still had a chance of the title.

St Andrews looked the better side but no clear-cut chances fell until Marjoribanks rose unchallenged to head home a Gary Summons corner gained by the persistence of Wright.

St Andrews sent a teasing low cross from which Andersen was forced to concede a corner. Hancock cleared.

St Andrews broke again with pace and accuracy but it was offside. Loddon's defending was at times nervy and they were lucky to keep their lead intact after Saints blasted a good chance over and Collins pulled off a great save.

Loddon responded and Marjoribanks was just wide after a neat move with Hancock. A Shipley cross went begging. St Andrews missed two great chances and their keeper saved them going two down. Marjoribanks flicked onto Battisson, he returned the cross and the former's header was clawed off the line. That was the Saints keeper's last action as his next kick left him badly injured. Dan Andersen replaced Battisson and Wright moved up front.

Andersen put through Marjoribanks, the keeper went down but couldn't hold it and then caught the striker's foot. No penalty, but a yellow card for Marjoribanks for venting his anger.

Saints levelled from great movement and footwork on the edge of Loddon's area. Baylis and Rolfe made great blocks when Saints got through via their lively number seven. In between, Marjoribanks had a header cleared off the line. Rolfe made another great block. In the dying seconds Collins made a superb stop down to his right.
