Louise Catchpole, who plays at the Beccles Indoor Bowls Club, has been selected to represent England at the British Isles Women's U25 International Series to be held in Wales at the Cynon IBC in January.

Louise, aged 19, will be making her England debut playing against the three other home nations - Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. This will be a round robin event where all four nations play against each other.

Prior to selection Louise was selected to attend an England trial match following good performances for the Suffolk ladies' county team in which she has been a regular for the past three seasons.

Earlier in the year Suffolk reached the national quarter-finals of the Atherley Trophy. And last season Louise was runner-up in the Suffolk ladies' pairs championship, having also reached the semi-finals of the ladies' singles in 2008.

At the age of 15 she reached the national quarter-finals of the ladies' U25 singles championships, and currently holds the ladies' singles championship at her own club, Beccles IBC.

This season was the second occasion on which Louise had been selected to play at an England trial match.

Though not being selected last season, her performance must have caught the selectors' attention and she was invited back again this year, where she turned in a highly-praised performance.

Following the trial match Louise had an agonising wait of over three weeks before the team was announced.

This is a great honour for the Beccles player who is extremely thrilled to have achieved this highly sought-after goal and now wants to go on to become a regular in the national team.

The England team will be made up of four rinks of four players, 16 players in total. Amongst the other players selected for England are Sian Gordon from the Swale club and Jamie-Lea Winch from the Rugby Thornfield club. Both these players will be representing England at the Commonwealth Games to be held in India later in 2010.
