Hales & Loddon (1pt) lost to Old Buckenham (20) by seven wickets in Norfolk Alliance Division One after electing to bat on what looked a good surface and thinking they had a strong batting line-up.
H&L however were soon in trouble at 23 for three. They recovered with a partnership of 70 between Phil Squire (MoM) and Aaron Jones who the score to 93 before Jones was bowled for 37.
Squire continued to bat sensibly trying to hold the innings together, but with the rapid loss of further wickets tried to push the score on but was bowled for 31. Rob Andersen coming in at No 8 was the only other batsmen of note for nine not out.
H&L were all out for a paltry 109 (including 12 extras). Unusually for this level, many of the H&L batsmen were out to lbw decisions.
Old Buckenham, having lost the early wicket of Perry to yet another lbw decision, then batted sensibly and reached their modest target with the loss of only three wickets. Opener T Banham top scored with 58.
