Bungay Black Dog Running Club hosted the latest stage of the Suffolk Winter League Cross-Country series on Broome Heath at Ditchingham on Sunday.

Of the 182 entrants, the club managed to field an impressive 33 runners with some excellent results.

Once again, Lynn Emmett was the first Black Dog home in 41st position in 41 minutes 11 seconds and again first in her age group of F40.

She was followed by Chris Chorley, 53rd (41:49), Joe Hornsey, 54th (41:51), Peter Chapman, 62nd (42:46), Robbie James, 71st (43:18), Roly Shaw, 85th (44:50), Richard Dye, 86th (44:52) and Tim Morton, 97th (45:38).

Helen Hornsey was the first Black Dog woman, 105th (46:35) with Bruce Rayner, 114th (47:17), Bob Paul, 118th (47:17), John White, 120th (48:13), David Waterman, 121th (49:14), Tom Livermere, 123rd (48:28), and Bobbie Sauerzapf, 124th (48:36) and second in her F50 age category.

Annette Manning was 134th (50:53), Shona Bendix, 138th (51:41), Hugh Roberts, 139th (51:42), Neil Thomas, 143rd (52:07), Ali Morton, 146th (52:30), Julie Myhill, 156th (54:22) and Carol Maycock was 164th (55:15). Karen McMorran and Gary McMorran finished together in 165th (55:21). Dave Lines was 169th (56:12), Karen Waters, 174th (58:15), Judy Potter, 175th (58:47), and third in her F60 age category, as was Robin Farrar, 176th (59:29) in the M65s. Jacques Green was 179th (62:24), Lou Sewell, 180th (67:18), Mandie Frost, 181st (67:18) and Avril Pond, 182nd (74:33).

In the overall series rankings the Black Dog senior men remain 10th and senior women 4th out of 14th teams.

Overall, the club is 10th in the rankings.

In the junior race, Kieran McMorran was second in 11 minutes 17 seconds and second in his age group.

Ted Oldman was seventh (12:18). Robin Bendix-Hickman was 24th (13:35), Campbell McMorran 34th (15:25), Ruby Oldman 36th (16:12) and Bailey Bendix-Hickman 42nd (17:00).

Forty-nine junior runners competed. The boys’ team is still third overall of 12 teams.

The club thanks all the marshalls for their help.

Further south, two Black Dogs took part in the popular Brighton Half Marathon. Ian Taylor stormed around the course in one hour, six minutes, coming 174th position out of 5,507 participants.

Bob Jack finished in 5,417th place in two hours 43 minutes.
