Earlier in the year, East Anglian Swallow Tails swimmer, Neil Howell, participated in the Barnet distance meet at the Copthall pools complex in north-west London.

Earlier in the year, East Anglian Swallow Tails swimmer, Neil Howell, participated in the Barnet distance meet at the Copthall pools complex in north-west London. He returned to the same venue last week to compete in the sprint meet. Also competing was former Halesworth resident, Debbie Matless.

Between them they won four gold, three silver and one bronze medal in the eight races in which they swam in their age groups.

Howell won gold in the 50m and 100m breaststroke events, as well as winning the 50m backstroke and taking bronze in the 50m freestyle.

Debbie Matless took gold in the 100m freestyle and silver in the 50m freestyle, and the 50m and 100m butterfly. She is a member of the UEA City of Norwich Club.
