BECCLES Tennis Club has been able to expand its coaching activities by acquiring the services of Ian Moore, from Lowestoft, who will lead sessions for senior players on Monday nights from 7-8.30pm.
This coaching is aimed at league players and average club players rather than beginners.
The coaching will begin on Monday, October 12.
It is also hoped to expand the junior coaching on Friday evenings to include more teenagers, and a daytime session for seniors available at that time is also being planned.
The club also recently reciprocated an exchange visit from tennis players in Zasova in the Czech Republic, organised by club member Glenn Drake.
In glorious weather and on clay courts hosed down between matches, Beccles recorded two very narrow wins, but the highlight was more the hospitality of the Czech hosts.
The club dinner this year has been booked at Prezzos for Saturday, December 5 and members are asked to sign up on the notice board as soon as possible.
The Winter League began on Sunday when the club lost two close matches. The A team lost at home to Acle C by 5-3, and the B team had a similar score away against Oasis.
