On Sunday morning four Godric CC riders went to Attleborough to ride the East District CA 10-mile time trial championship, on a course from Besthorpe to Wymondham and back on the A11.
On Sunday morning four Godric CC riders went to Attleborough to ride the East District CA 10-mile time trial championship, on a course from Besthorpe to Wymondham and back on the A11.
It was very hard on the way out and good on the way back. Mick Hudspith did 22:59 his best time for two years and best Godric CC time so far this year.
Paul Barwood 26:08 his best this year, Adrian Perkin on (Trike) did 26:21 for third vet on standard out of 90 riders. Super Vet Jim Caplin 28:07, John Dupin from Redisham VC Baracchi 23:14.
The winner was James Eman (Anglia Velo) 20:40.
Adrian Perkin travelled up to the Liverpool area to ride the TA North West Bruce Kingsford Memorial 50-mile time trial and finished fourth and second on handicap in a time of 2-28:03.
Godric's Tuesday evening 10-mile time trial on the Earsham by-pass saw the best entry of the year - 26 riders. The first five places were from VC Baracchi, Liam Gentry 21:37, Simon Asher 23:03, Mark Newnham 23:19, Nick Esser 23:31, George Kerridge 23:45. Godric times James Hoseason 25:14, Gavin Sumner 25:27, Paul Barwood 25:59, Mark Elmy 27:14, Jim Caplin 28:15.
In the RTTC National Championship
25-mile Mick Hudspith (Godric) was 93rd in a time of 1-00:31, Pat Ellis from Woodton (VTTA EA) was 89th in 59:36. There was a entry of 150 of the British top riders. The event was on the Attleborough by-pass on a cold, wet morning with a 6am start, won by Michael Hutchinson (In_Gear) in 48:23.
