Point on their travels boosts Black Dogs
Hindringham 0, Bungay Town 0
Bungay came back from two heavy defeats with this battling draw away to Hindringham in the Anglian Combination Division One on Saturday.
The Black Dogs defended well, with keeper Gary Foyster in good form, and Craig Hunting – on his 350th appearance – commanding at the back.
They fully deserved a point, although they were unable to create many chances in a dour game.
Bungay were the first to threaten, with Kevin Riches’ 25-yard shot going just wide.
After 16 minutes Riches’ mis-hit pass found Dan Andrew in space on the edge of the box, but he shot wide.
Midway through the half, Bungay were forced into a change after an injury to Russell Tuffs. Charlie Jones replacing him.

Hindringham began to enjoy more possession, without really threatening the Bungay goal. Just before half-time Bungay almost took the lead, Riches’ turned on the edge of the area and his goal-bound shot was tipped away for a corner by the home keeper.
Hindringham started the second-half strongly, pushing Bungay back into their own half.
Foyster did well to turn aside a shot, then Hindringham had a strong appeal for a penalty turned down after a forward went down when challenged by Hunting.
From the resulting corner a goalmouth scramble saw the ball cleared off the line. A home forward then beat Foyster, but his shot struck a post.
At the other end, Bungay were restricted to long-range efforts from Riches and Andrew.
Bungay were temporarily reduced to 10 men following an injury to Andrew, and during this spell Foyster again saved well from a shot from the edge of the area.
When Andrew returned, he had Bungay’s best chance of the game, but his looping header couldn’t quite clear the keeper.
Team: G Foyster, M Shipley, S Batt, C Hunting, S Whiteman, K Riches, R Tuffs (C Jones), M Holmes, B Davies, G Perez-Hunt (M James), D Andrew.
Tomorrow, Bungay visit Wymondham Town, with a 2pm kick-off.
