Topcroft were knocked off top spot in Division Two of the Norfolk Alliance when they lost by six wickets at Ashmanhaugh and Barton Wanderers.

Topcroft won the toss and decided to bat first and G Rostron (44) and C Hancock (17) batted with a much more positive attitude this week before Hancock was out lbw.

Rostron and H Windridge then settled into a 50 partnership which came to an end with Rostron getting bowled.

Windridge (37) agained looked in fine form before losing his wicket with an inside edge onto his off stump. B Baldwin was tearing into anything loose, with J Rhodes working well with him before edging off to keeper.

Getting back to his best Baldwin eventually went for 70 as Topcroft reached 230-9 - although having been 188-4 at one stage it was a rather disappointing total.

It was a decent total but poor bowling at the start of the reply allowed Wanderers to get off to a flyer and the first wicket fell on 132 for D Todd (1-39) via a catch from Baldwin.

Baldwin (2-40) then got both the Everett brothers, bowling one and snicking the other to A Hancock. Later on Rostron (1-57) bowled another Everett, however, it was too late and the hosts saw it out in the 40th over to win by six wickets.

A convincing 115 run victory over a sporting A&B Wanderers A side saw Topcroft A move into the top three in Division Six.

Topcroft made an excellent 253-3 from their 45 overs with Kevin Springall scoring an unbeaten 102 and Mark Talbot (45) and Jon Block (40) also making useful contributions.

In reply Graeme Talbot took 4-37 as Wanderers were dismissed for 138.

On Saturday Topcroft travel to Swafffham while the seconds are at home to Denver,

Topcroft C are third in their division following a comfortable win over Blundeston A.

After slipping to 40 for four, contributions from Adcock 32, Davey 45 steadied the ship before Reeder and Wheeler dominated the bowling with some fine shot play and some massive hitting.

With overs running out Wheeler was out for a hard hitting 81 and Reeder went on to make a fine 100 out and leave Topcroft on 311 for 7.

The total was never in danger although Baldwin made 68. Blundeston made 181 for six with James and Van Zanten taking two wickets each and J Reeder and Wheeler take one apiece.
