The Beccles Golf Club quartet who took part in the Longest Day Challenge had a good day both on and off the course.
David Dean, David Neech, James Cushing and Eddie Bowles raised an impressive £1,600 plus for MacMillan Cancer Support on Sunday while a hole-in-one helped make the charity effort even more memorable.
“We had a great day,” said David Dean. “The first 36 flew by, the next 18 were a bit tougher and the last 18 were a struggle until on the 62nd hole when James got a hole-in-one on the par three, 102-yard eighth.
“The best two cards from each round count for the Macmillan competition and we came home with 309 points (21 under par) and so far have raised more than £1,600.”
