The visitors reached 60 without loss from the first 10 overs but were then left to hang on at 98 for nine as Ryan Pearce claimed four for 15 and Geoff Roff three for 28.

Hales are fourth in the table, and tomorrow entertain bottom side Topcroft in a derby match.

Second-bottom Beccles have the task of trying to do better than Hales against top team Sprowston, who are their visitors.

In Division Four, Bungay's match at Great Melton also fell foul of the weather. They visit Old Buckenham A tomorrow.

In Division Six, Beccles A made 85 for six against Saxlingham A's 84. Topcroft A made 140 for seven against Swardeston-CEYMS' 186 for five.

Tomorrow, Beccles A visit Bradfield A while Topcroft A entertain Garboldisham A.

The Norfolk League was a wash-out for local sides except for a struggling Hales Colts in Division Eight. They were 74 all out chasing Reepham & Salle's 235 for six.
