SHAUN Whiteman topped the appearance charts for Bungay Football Club in the season just ended.

The 17-year-old missed only one of the 32 games played, and formed part of a largely settled back four, his three other colleagues in that department, captain Craig Hunting, Dan Lowe and Mark Shipley each missing only four to finish on 28 each.

With the first team fielding 51 different players during the season, no other player made more than 18 appearances in what was a largely disappointing season for the Black Dogs. Hunting's appearances took him to 345 in total, 13th in the all time appearance charts and just four short of Paul Mickleburgh in 12th place.

Goals were the main problem, with Myles Clarke, who left in November having made 12 appearances, top scorer with just six. Shane Ward and Ainsley Baynes each scored five times. Only 48 goals were scored in the 32 games, with 62 conceded. The side won nine, drew eight and lost 15, finishing 12th in division one of the Anglian Combination.
