WAVENEY Valley Athletic Club has restarted junior training at Beccles, meeting on Wednesday evenings from 6.30 to 8pm at the Sir John Leman school sports field.

The club welcomes all juniors aged from under nine to 17 to go along and try sprint and middle-distance running, hurdles, discus, javelin, shot put and both high and long jumping. All abilities will be most welcome.

Honorary club member Paul Evans - the former Great Britain 10,000m Olympian and Chicago Marathon winner, who lives locally, is giving the juniors the benefit of his vast experience by very kindly providing coaching over the first weeks until, David Pimlott, acting Beccles junior rep, can obtain his coaching qualifications.
