Topcroft won a tense game to book a place in the final of the Lady Mary Trophy at the expense of Cromer.

Topcroft, needing a much-improved performance, won the toss, elected to bowl first on a good wicket and limited Cromer to 149.

Gunawardene made the initial breakthrough, removing T Davies for nine. Charlwood lived a charmed life, scoring the majority of his runs off the edge as the score moved to 51.

Arendse was caught by keeper Hancock off Gunawardene for 19. I Todd then removed Warnes and Charlwood in the space of two overs before Baldwin bowled Elliott for six to leave Cromer 63-5.

Rostron maintained the pressure on Cromer as a fantastic fielding display made runs very hard to come by. Brown fell, caught by Shipley off Rostron for 15. Buck and Wright set about rebuilding the Cromer innings.

Marshall was re-introduced into the attack after a poor opening spell and soon bowled Buck for 19 before removing Wright (26) in his next over. Baldwin returned to bowl wicketkeeper Barrett for seven, and Marshall ended the Cromer innings on 149 having L Davies caught by Hancock.

On a seaming wicket Hancock and Todd were both dismissed by Arendse leaving Topcroft 9-2 after seven overs. Gunawardene was trapped lbw by Arendse, and Topcroft were in trouble at 10-3. Shipley and Baldwin scrapped to take the score to 36 before Shipley was caught off Craske for six. Baldwin (14) was bowled by Craske and Batty soon followed to leave Topcroft 48-6.

Davey was run out and Topcroft were staring at defeat, requiring 90 runs with three wickets remaining. Rostron joined Goodfellow and dominated a game-changing partnership of 66 before being caught for a well-struck 34.

Marshall came in with Topcroft requiring 24 for victory. They needed 10 when Marshall was caught for eight on 140-9. D Todd and Goodfellow soon took the scores level.

Goodfellow, on 49, then lofted a ball over the infield to claim the winning runs and his 50 in a match-winning performance.

A great performance in the field from Topcroft with the wickets being shared between Gunawardene (2), I Todd (2), Rostron (1), Marshall (3) and Baldwin (2), and a good partnership between Rostron and Goodfellow mean Topcroft will play Bradfield in the final.

Cunningham's Auto MoM: James Goodfellow.
