Trophy time for Bungay bowlers

Bungay Bowls Club finished their 2010 season with their dinner and presentation evening at Flixton Buck last Saturday.
Around 50 people attended the event including sponsors John Groom, Three Willows Garden Centre and Waveney Windows.
After a welcome by new chairman David Sheppard, Liz and Peter Watts of the Three Willows Garden Centre presented the trophies to the finalist of the club competitions that they sponsor. In the ladies section Marion Frost and Gilly Angus won the two singles titles, (Gilly beat Marion to the EBF Ladies singles), before teaming up with James Gosling and Keith Brown to win Fours.
Gilly was also a runner-up in the Mixed Pairs with James while Marion was runner-up with Keith in the Club Pairs. As well as winning the Fours title James Gosling won the Mens EBF singles and finished as runner-up in the Triples. Keith was a member of the losing triples along with Peter Rix.
Steven Church won Men’s BE and EBF singles titles as well as the Club Pairs with Richard Welch. Richard also won the Triples playing with John Kelly and David Sheppard and was runner-up in the Fours when teamed wi th John and Steven and Stella Minns.
Richard Allen won the Harry James Set Play, with Peter Rix as runner up, and then teamed up with Barbara Wortley to win the Mixed Pairs for a fourth consecutive time. Richard was also runner-up in the Mens BE Singles.
Peter Gunstone won the Over-60’s Singles, beating Les Knowles, while Arnold King won the Under-25’s by beating Jack Powley. As well as winning the triples David Sheppard was also runner-up in the Mens EBF singles and the Club Singles. The most improved player award went to Gilly Angus, her third award of the night.
The club’s winning captains were also presented with their trophies.
