The Black Dogs ended their home campaign on a winning note as they completed an Anglian Combination Division One double over Scole on Tuesday evening.
After a goalless first half in which they squandered numerous chances, they had to come from behind as Will Goulding converted a 54th-minute penalty after Brennan Solomon felled an opponent. But Shaun Whiteman, who had gone close on a number of occasions with headers, finally made one count in the 61st minute, converting Josh Knights’ cross.
Bungay had efforts hit the woodwork and cleared off the line before two goals in the final nine minutes gave them the win their performance deserved. Dom Mirner volleyed home John Riches’ driven corner, and within two minutes Aiden Lowe netted his 17th of the season.
A win at Hindringham tomorrow in their final league game (2.30) will see them finish fourth.
