Top magician Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee have had to cancel their planned appearance at Bungay’s Fisher Theatre this evening and tomorrow.
The theatre said it was due to unforeseen circumstances and apologised to those who had been looking forward to the performances. The show is being rescheduled for later in the year.
On Sunday, the Bolshoi Live production of The Taming of the Shrew is being streamed to the theatre at 3pm.
It is a new production staged exclusively for the Bolshoi and cannot be seen anywhere else.
The story of the sweet Bianca and the ill-tempered Katerina and their father’s attempts to marry them off is one of Shakespeare’s most powerful comedies which choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot had brilliantly transcribed to ballet form. Tickets are £12.
On Monday at 7.30pm, Bungay Film Club presents Gemma Bovery (15) based on the French classic Madame Bovery with Fabrice Luchini is in the title role.
Next Thursday the theatre brings Les Liaisons Dangereuses to Bungay with the National Theatre Live production. The cast includes Michelle Dockery, who has appeared in Downton Abbey, Janet McTeer and Dominic West. Tickets are £12.
Next Friday, The Jerry Lee Lewis Story, starring the sensational Peter Gill, is on stage at the Fisher at 7.30pm with tickets £15 or £12 for concessions.
